Chinese Ginseng Extract (PNS)

Panax notoginseng extract(PNS) is derived from the roots of the Panax notoginseng plant, a species of the genus Panax. Commonly referred to as Chinese ginseng or notoginseng, and it is referred to as tiánqī (田七), tienchi ginseng, sānqī (三七) or sanchi, three-seven root, and mountain plant. it is known for its potential health benefits and is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine. The Latin word “panax” means “cure-all,” reflecting the plant’s reputation for its medicinal properties.

The main active ingredients in Panax notoginseng extract include saponins, which are classified into four types: protopanaxadiol, protopanaxatriol, ocotilloltype, and oleanolic acid constituents. These saponins are believed to contribute to the potential health benefits of the extract. Additionally, other active ingredients found in the extract include dencichine, a non-protein amino acid that acts as a hemostatic substance, flavonoids such as quercetin, and polysaccharides.

Panax notoginseng is a perennial herb that grows naturally in China. It has dark green leaves branching from a stem with a red cluster of berries in the middle. The plant is both cultivated and gathered from wild forests, with wild plants being the most valuable. The Chinese refer to it as three-seven root because the plant has three petioles with seven leaflets each. It is also believed that the root should be harvested between three and seven years after planting it.
